Agricultural Nonwovens: Frost Blankets, Mulch Film and Greenhouse Covers

Felix Nonwovens produces agricultural nonwovens and films for growers, distributors and greenhouse operators. We make them in Eskişehir, Türkiye. The range includes the Agrigel and Agritül frost blankets, micro-embossed mulch film, greenhouse covers and silage film.

Agrigel frost blanket

Agrigel is a nonwoven crop cover that improves crop quality, gives UV protection, supports earlier harvests and keeps flying insects off. It:

  • keeps heat and humidity at a controlled level
  • resists UV rays
  • controls temperature and humidity inside the greenhouse
  • makes the most of sunlight
  • helps with soil temperature, saves water and reduces labour costs

Benefits for growers: weed control and better plant growth, off-season production for higher prices, better fruit quality, sweetness, colour and appearance, pest management, higher greenhouse yield, and easy collection. Agrigel also protects crops from natural conditions and harmful insects. Growers also call it a plant warming blanket, winter fleece, winter fabric, frost protection fleece or hail protection.

Agritül frost blanket and covers

Our covers create a good growing environment for vegetables, fruit and flowers. They protect crops from wind and cold and give a balanced environment for faster growth, which makes several harvests a year possible.

With new-generation co-extrusion technology and suitable recipes, our covers can offer:

  • sun, light and temperature control
  • anti-moisture and anti-fog behaviour
  • resistance to sulphur and chlorine chemicals for up to 60 months

Service life: we produce covers rated for 3, 9, 12, 24, 36 and 60 months against the sun. Thickness, sun-resistance period and additives can be chosen for flowers, vegetables, fruit, classical farming, hydroponics or geothermal greenhouses.

Thermal effect: the cover warms up in the sun and slows night-time cooling of the greenhouse. It protects crops against sudden temperature drops, and the smaller day–night difference raises plant efficiency.

Frost blanket weights: typically 19–30 g/m² white or black fabric when laid directly over the crop, and 17–50 g/m² white fabric for low tunnels. Widths and roll lengths are available on request.

Mulch film

Our mulch film is micro-engraved for vegetables, fruit, trees and field crops.

  • micro-engraved surface texture
  • thickness from 20 to 200 microns, with maximum water vapour barrier
  • high opacity, UV protection and weed protection
  • easy to lay and collect

With drip irrigation and fumigation, mulch film supports earlier planting, keeps soil moisture in (saving water), suppresses weeds, limits fertiliser loss, improves yield quality and productivity, and reduces soil compaction and root loss. In Turkish we also call it çilek filmi (strawberry film). Colours: black, silver, brown, white, clear, red and VIF (aluminium laminated with PE film). Film width: up to 1.65 m (1650 mm).

Greenhouse covers and silage film

We also produce greenhouse covers and silage film. Datasheets are available on request.

Choosing a cover

Match the service life to the crop cycle: a short season needs a cover rated for a few months, while a permanent greenhouse benefits from 36- or 60-month covers. Choose additives such as thermal or anti-fog for the climate and greenhouse type.
