In its August 2019 feature "Advancements in Medical Nonwovens", written by associate editor Tara Olivo, Nonwovens Industry profiled Felix Nonwovens of Eskişehir, Turkey, as a producer of spunbond nonwovens, films and laminates for the hygiene and medical markets.

The magazine noted that our polypropylene spunbond is used in hydrophobic gown fabrics and hydrophilic drape laminates, and that our cast films can be made as a full barrier to bacteria and viruses or as breathable films. It also reported on our then-new hot-melt lamination system, which added capacity for SFS breathable barrier AAMI Level 3 and 4 gown fabrics and Level 4 hydrophilic drape fabrics. Ali Serdar Serteser said the vertical integration with converting lets Felix offer semi-finished or finished gowns, drapes and packs, so "our customers and partners [can] be more flexible with their needs."

Today we build on this with spunbond, SMS and SSMMS (10-100 gsm), meltblown, breathable film and ultrasonic, hot-melt and calender lamination for medical fabrics meeting EN 13795 and FDA 510(k) requirements.
