Geotextile

Geotextile
Geotextile

Nonwovens are used in the construction with the purposes of filtration, reinforcement and protection. They should be kept in enclosed areas with no sun light and they do not contain any hazardous and toxic substance for the environment.

These products are generally used for the construction of high-ways, railways, storages, parking lots, airstrips, oil transfer pump and tanks.

In such construction areas, geo-textiles have a reinforce effect on the foundation mechanism. They provide support for the equal distribution of weight which is gathered rapidly on a specific point of the foundation. In addition, since they are particles-proof yet non-waterproof, they can be used on the foundation of dams or as foundation reinforce against landslides.

Application Areas

Drainage: Nonwoven geo-textiles are ideal filter materials. Constructing French Drain Channel, roof drainage, land drainage and perforated pipe installation are very practical with geo-textiles. Besides, they provide the required drainage with high drainage capacity in-plane for complex vertical applications such as tunnel and retaining wall.

Asphalt coating:  An application of nonwoven polypropylene asphalt felt geo-textile should be absolutely performed before coating of new wearing course over old asphalt. When used beneath new wearing course, geo-textiles have retarding effect on the reflection of cracks towards newly-worn out wearing course.

On Weak Foundation and Roads: For buildings that are designed to be constructed on weak foundations, primary building materials need to be sunk into weak foundation and the stabilization of the foundation should be completed. Otherwise, permanent damages may occur depending on the type of the building due to unexpected subsidence. Therefore, geo-textiles that are used under the weak foundations serve as a separator and reinforced material by stabilizing the foundation and minimize the risk of unexpected different subsidence.

Landslide Control: Geo-textiles are used as a filter and bedding material so as to prevent the movement of back filling in coastal buildings due to the waves. Geo-textiles used in such applications effectively separate bulk and fine materials and inhibit the mixing of these materials by absorbent power generated by the waves.

Protection of Insulation
Geo-textiles have two application forms on roof insulation:
1. Protection of isolation material
2. Separation of layers and as a filter layer
With high puncture strength, they can be applied right on the insulation. Therefore, materials beneath geo-textiles are protected from damages and leaking of cement slurry.

Protection of Membrane on Foundations
Puncture risk of insulation materials is high due to high pressure on foundations. Thus, geo-textiles should be used as pressure diffuser. In addition, geo-textiles provide flexibility for insulation for the movements of the building and prevent pressure on insulation during these movements.

Protection of Geo-membrane
Generally used in open field, geo-membrane applications have higher risk of tearing and wearing due to puncture and excessive friction. Therefore, geo-textiles serve as a protective layer either beneath or over based on the application type.
Having 5 main functions, this product exhibits at least two of these functions on the application area which follow as:
Protection of Insulation
High puncture strength of geo-textiles provides an option of application right on insulation. Thus, materials beneath geo-textiles are protected from damages and leaking of cement slurry.

Membrane Protection in Foundations
The puncture risk of insulation materials is high due to high pressure in foundations. For this reason, geo-textiles should be used as pressure diffuser. In addition, geo-textiles provide flexibility for insulation for the movements of the building and prevent pressure on insulation during these movements.

IN REINFORCEMENT OF WEAK FLOORS AND BACKFILLING MATERIALS (REINFORCEMENT FUNCTION)

On weak floors and road
For buildings that are designed to be constructed on weak foundations, primary building materials should be prevented to be sunk into weak foundation and the stabilization of the foundation should be completed. Therefore, geo-textiles that are used under weak foundations serve as a separator and reinforce the material by stabilizing the foundation and minimize the risk of unexpected different subsidence.
