Felix Nonwovens produces spunbond (SS), SMS and SMMS nonwovens, breathable films, laminates and elastic components for the hygiene industry. Diaper and pad converters can source most of the nonwoven and film layers of a hygiene product from one plant in Eskişehir, Türkiye.
SS, SMS and SMMS nonwovens
We make SMS/SMMS nonwovens for baby and adult diapers. They are ultra soft, permanently hydrophilic and have high hydrostatic pressure resistance. Typical positions in the diaper:

SSMMS is available from 10 to 100 g/m². Rolls are supplied in diameters of 10–120 cm on 3-inch or 6-inch cores, and coloured grades are available.
Textile backsheet
Our textile backsheet is spunbond nonwoven hot-melt laminated to breathable film. It blocks liquid and lets water vapour through, and it has a soft, textile-like look and feel that is comfortable for the end user.

Elastic components
- Elastic ears and waist bands: soft, stretchable diaper closures for baby and adult diapers, plus mask elastics. They have high elongation, breathability, ease of conversion and compatibility with other polyolefin materials. Available in premium and economy grades.
- Elastic side tape: for diaper closure systems.
- Fully elastic nonwoven: after special treatment it stretches in both the machine and cross directions and returns to its original form. Thickness 0.5–1.0 mm, weight 50–110 g/m². It cuts without fraying, bonds well at joints, and was SGS-tested for zero skin irritation.
Breathable film
Our cast breathable films carry a water column from 100 cm H₂O and a water vapour transmission of 200 g/m²/24 h. They are used in diaper backsheets and the outer layers of disposable underpads. See Breathable film.
Applications in the hygiene chain
Hygiene converters use our materials in many places. In a typical baby or adult diaper, the topsheet is a soft, hydrophilic SS or SMS layer that lets liquid pass quickly to the core. The core wrap and dusting layer hold the absorbent core together, and the leg cuffs use hydrophobic SMS/SMMS with high hydrostatic pressure resistance to prevent leakage. The backsheet, either breathable film or textile backsheet, stops liquid and keeps the skin comfortable. Elastic ears, side tape and waist bands give fit and closure. Because Felix makes nonwovens, films, laminates and elastic parts, you can qualify several components with one supplier and one quality system. Our materials also go into disposable underpads and other single-use hygiene products. For feminine hygiene pads and wipes, we recommend 10–20 g/m² SS, SMS and SSMMS nonwovens.
Quality and testing
Our laboratory tests strike-through time, wetback, liquid penetration resistance (water column) and other physical properties, which are the key tests for hygiene nonwovens. Felix is ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certified, and CE, EUDAMED and FDA registered. We also hold valid OEKO-TEX certification, and our credentials include EN 13795 and FDA 510(k). Certificates are available on request.

What weights can you produce for topsheet? SS spunbond, SMS, SMMS and SSMMS are all 10–100 g/m². Tell us your target weight and we will confirm feasibility.
Is the hydrophilic finish permanent? Yes. Our SMS/SMMS for hygiene is made with a permanent hydrophilic finish.
What is the maximum width? Our maximum production width is 540 cm. We produce full widths of 160, 320, 400 and 540 cm and slit rolls to the widths you need.
Do you supply elastic ears in different grades? Yes, premium and economy grades.
